The online OSHA 510 course, otherwise known as the Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry, is specifically designed for private sector personnel and covers OSHA policies, procedures, and standards, as well as construction safety and health principles. The course places an extra special emphasis on the most hazardous areas in the workplace, using OSHA standards as a guide. Individuals taking this class will learn OSHA policies, procedures, and standards, as well as construction safety & health principles. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a 30-hour course completion card and be able to locate the correct OSHA standards in 29 CFR 1926; identify common causes of accidents and fatalities in hazardous areas of construction; identify abatement techniques for such hazards. OSHA 510 is the only "teach-the-teacher" course and is prerequisite for the OSHA 500 course, which has a primary focus of teaching training techniques.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive 30-hour construction outreach course completion card and be able to: (1) recognize various construction processes, materials, and equipment; (2) identify the common hazards found in many areas of construction; (3) find the correct OSHA Standards in 29 CFR 1926; and (4) recommend abatement techniques for hazards found in construction.![]()
